Gary Buckley

Partner, Retail Practice

After graduating Gary took up a career with Standard Chartered Bank before transitioning into the Retail sector as concession and Area Management with some of the country’s leading sports retailers.

With this financial and retailing experience he moved to HW Group in 1995 as a consultant, experiencing an MBO, flotation and eventual sale of the business to TMP Worldwide in his time with the firm.

In 1999 Gary helped establish a unique Retail and Leisure recruitment boutique, the Tiro Group which specialised in the sourcing and appointment of Middle Management to Board level executives. In November 2002 Gary, along with Neale Jackson and another Director bought the business to create Buckley & Wallace Executive Search Ltd where he now heads the Retail Practice.

Gary is a member of the IoD and is an active member of The British Retail Consortium.

Alan Hine

CFO Practice

Alan graduated in law and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1988 after training with Grant Thornton. Post qualification he pursued an accountancy career within a small accountancy firm where he developed a specialism working with ambitious growing SMEs.

Alan had a successful career change into recruitment at one of the leading recruitment firms in the accountancy recruitment market which he subsequently helped float in 1996.

With 30 years of experience in commerce, he has well established professional contacts across Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. Alan would like to think he is considered as both a successful recruiter and a trusted adviser to many. He has Board level appointments at two listed recruitment consultancies and also led the management team at a boutique search firm as well as owning his own businesses for many years. Alan is an active networker being a Support MD in BNI.
